Welcome to la Fleur Sauvage, our cozy holiday home in the Morvan

Just an 8-hour drive from Utrecht, in the southernmost tip of the beautiful Parc Régional du Morvan, a 243,000 hectare protected natural park in Burgundy. A hilly, wooded landscape with numerous rivers, lakes, small farms and old villages.

Situated in a valley overlooking rolling hills and farmlands, with a very spacious garden of about 1800m2, our lovely holiday home is sporadically available for rent.

Exterior

At the front of this typical Morvan house with characteristic stone walls, there is a wooden picnic table where you can enjoy the peace, nature and of course the beautiful view in the sun.

At the side of the house is an outdoor area with an outdoor table, where you can enjoy the morning sun and your breakfast, surrounded by the scents and colors of the various herbs that grow and bloom there. Cut fresh herbs for your food to your heart’s content!

We have a spacious garden (1800m2) with plenty of sun and a number of fruit trees. Feel free to pick a delicious fresh plum or apple!

Via the adjacent path you can take wonderful walks in the beautiful surroundings, also for the (experienced) cyclist it is a good place to be. A true hiking and cycling paradise!

At the side of the house is an outdoor area with an outdoor table, where you can enjoy the morning sun and your breakfast, surrounded by the scents and colors of the various herbs that grow and bloom there. Cut fresh herbs for your food to your heart's content!

'And we were allowed to be the second tenants. I was sitting in the garden, in front of the hammocks, staring ahead and looking at the ever-changing sky, listening to the crickets - every now and then one jumps at me - and I felt like I was in a painting . Normally you look at a landscape that always remains the same, but you always notice something different, only you walk away and you never sit where the painter was. Now I was there and I would prefer to be immortalized there. We had so much fun, found peace, walked, read, swam, cycled and had a delicious meal in Sémelay at le Clos de la Bussière, on the gravel next to the church, overlooking trees. Exceptionally beautiful.'

As three third tenants, we have also greatly enjoyed this French paradise. The garden, the fragrant flowers, the butterflies, being outside, taking a shower outside, the silence and the feeling of being alone in the world, we have come to rest. Compliments for the decoration of the house, tasteful and very complete. We felt at home from the first moment. Thank you also for looking after us and calling in helplines when we accidentally drove into a ditch along the road! Everything turned out well, it was a real adventure! C'est la vie!

Just like the house, the environment is magnificent, romantic and reminded us strongly of the movie 'Call me by your name'. It felt like we were in a landscape peinture, one of the best quality. We urged everyone to stargaze at night, so you can make many wishes, because many fall.

We had a wonderful week in "la Fleur Sauvage". Nice weather all week: eating outside every day, playing games (including badminton with the set up net) swimming in the area (recommended: the lake at "la Machine"), to Emmaus, eating in Semelay, walking, stargazing, sleeping well in the cool house and good cooking in the well-equipped kitchen.

We have spent a wonderful family week here in the "Fleur Sauvage". Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us! We truly appreciated the attention to details (and couleur palette) and care you have put to make our stay pleasant and memorable. Congratulations to the artist as well! To the next comers: we recommend a visit to Autun (booking at the Comptoir Cuisine 😊 ) local products (delicious meat and dairy!) and jogging or hiking around the house - glorious! Also lovely it was to sit around in the garden, with the hammocks being our kids favourite!

We felt like Adam and Eve in paradise in "la Fleur Sauvage"! From the sitz baths, overlooking the wonderful hilly landscape with grazing white cows and always different skies. The apple trees full of fruit and fortunately without a snake to seduce Eve. The grapes to enjoy from the hammock. The wonderful scent of lots of lavender. And then in the evening after a wonderful day afterglow with a delicious glass of wine and beautiful French cheeses! The cottage has been furnished with so much love and taste that you immediately feel at home! It was a privilege to be here for a week. Many thanks dear Martijn and Fleurien! We'd love to come back here!

We were very pleasantly surprised when we viewed the house and the garden with a view. Atmospheric, comfortable, complete and spacious. We felt right at home. We also enjoyed lying in the chairs with a glass of wine and staring at that special starry sky! When we got a flat tire with our bikes and didn't have a repair kit with us, Arie came the next morning with a simson box! The bike ride along the canal and to the swimming lake at la Machine was wonderful. Had a great laugh in those crazy pools with a view of the hill. In short, enjoy and relax for a week. We made good use of the full bookcase with a lot of choice.

We had a wonderful time at La Fleur Sauvage. The house is in a wonderfully quiet location and therefore there are hardly any ambient noises. We have also been able to admire the starry sky a few times. Tip, look at these through the binoculars! All in all a lovely house where we may come back.

We recommend staying in this atmospheric authentic house ... a pearl in nature for those who love peace and quiet and want to experience the feeling of complete relaxation. Last 5 days we have been able to enjoy this beautiful place. Even though not all days were "bright" as far as the weather is concerned, we had a lovely walk between the showers. The cottage feels like a warm welcome. Thank you Martijn and Fleurien for sharing this beautiful spot with us and perhaps even more people.

As soon as the border of France officially "opened", we were here on the doorstep. And we have not regretted it for a second! What a wonderful stay! What a rest! What a view! I haven't felt this relaxed in months. It was delicious! We were here during a period with very hot days (+/- 30.C) in the garden there was always a place with shade to be found. And otherwise we could always "hide" inside in the lovely cool living room. We really enjoyed our stay!

What a nice house with a beautiful lush garden in a beautiful and wonderful and quiet place in the Morvan. We enjoyed the nature and all the birds around us. We have seen beautiful waterfalls and streams, Cascade de Brisecou is highly recommended and a nice combination with a visit to Autun. Despite the rainy weather, we enjoyed our stay at la Fleur Sauvage very much.

What a wonderful holiday we had in this house! Decorated with so much taste and the garden is beautiful, wonderful to be in, lounging in a lounger, trying to read but being distracted by the butterflies, lizards, birds of prey and cows 🙂 and we even heard the nightingale sing! We had a wonderful swim in Lac des Settons, highly recommended! (especially quiet side) Great cycle in Etang-sur-Arroux and so much more... Was so nice to be here!

We had a wonderful two weeks in your fantastic house in this amazing place. The tranquility, the cows in the meadow, the many birds, the view, all beautiful .. Lovely bike ride along the Canal de Nivernais, lunch in Semelay, bought jam at le Potager Sucre in St. Leger de Fougeret (super nice address), visit to Autun etc. etc. And a lot of reading and cooking in the cozy kitchen, walking and simply...enjoying! Congratulations on your la Fleur Sauvage, a place to be jealous of!

What a wonderful week we had in this paradisiacal environment. Every time full of amazement about how cosy, atmospheric the house is. You have decorated it so lovingly together! We had our bikes with us this time. Highly recommended to visit towns by bike and to cycle along the Canal du Nivernais, with all the beautiful locks and beautiful views. But you can also rent bicycles there, we saw.

In the vicinity of La Fleur Sauvage we find it too hilly for cycling, even for the electric bicycle (but that may be due to the age). Nice walk and garden pruning done! And above all enjoyed it so much! The supermarket in Luzy is really a 'topper' If only the Netherlands had so many delicacies in the supermarkets! Thank you dear two! We had a great time!

We spearheaded a new season in this quaint house. since spring hadn't really arrived yet, it was a bit cold. But we are in no time become experts in making stoves 🙂 A beautiful place decorated with love and attention to detail. A fine base for an introduction to the Morvan. You walk straight into nature and as avid 'circle walkers' we have picked up our hearts at the various Emmaus branches. Now let's hope it fits in the car ... to be repeated! Thanks for the pleasant communication and tips for the area.

Thank you so much for allowing us to spend a week here waking up in the morning between the (nearby) grazing deer and the soothing sound of crickets. Enjoying a cup of coffee outside in the afternoon and spotting the salamanders among the plants, besides the view, was our highlight of the day! Dear Fleurien & Martijn What a lovely house (and garden) this is! We had a great time here! The Morvan is also beautiful. We did a lot of biking. The restaurants are very cozy. I put some extra plants in pots (we found the pots in the barn). Just fun to buy plants at the market. I saw my first green-tree frog here. Many thanks for allowing us to be here!

Dear Fleurien & Martijn, after two weeks we say goodbye with some melancholy to your fine house and garden in the middle of a beautiful area. The silence and tranquility was fantastic. We had beautiful weather. The last very hot days, we sat mostly under the plum tree, wonderfully cool. From the terrace we had no view of the valley, we found it a pity. maybe some pruning?

Dear Fleurien & Martijn,After not going for a week in Brittany we booked through Booking as we already had quite a few memories in the area. A wonderful week together with our dog Roos, away from our busy lives. Self we are also used to rest in the rear corner but this is much quieter.
it was wonderful, the beautiful days we enjoyed the weather, the terrace and the deck chairs. We also know now that it can rain a lot here, such a green region for a reason. With a lot of fun also entertained us with wet weather, reading and busy with patchwork and quilting, "worked" on my new project with the quilting sisters. And to the magazine I make with my daughters, the Klossie. Left a few copies for you.Many thanks for our stay in your house "with soul", much nicer than standard cottages and thanks for your tips during the week and the trust.

Dear Fleurien & Martijn, many thanks for a wonderful week in your beautiful house! It was hot! Nevertheless, we have done and seen a lot: drinking rosé in the garden at maison Bariolée, sitting at the pond at resort Bousset on the rue de Chiddes, swimming and supping in lac des Settons, playing golf at the Golf Municipale in Autun,then having a drink under the trees at café des Tileurs, and eating at le petitRolin. Here in the neighborhood we had a delicious meal at L'Ecole de la Buissoniere, incredibly nice people with Burgundian hospitality. The walks around the house are especially beautiful! Deer and yellow wagtails completed this week!

Dear Fleurien & Martijn, We enjoyed our stay in your beautiful residence immensely! What an oasis of tranquility! Had good weather pretty much every day. We were able to sit outside a lot and enjoyed the view and the cows!!! 🙂
Very nice to receive daily emails, we were able to use many of the tips. We had dinner at New Montcharlet, took a brisk 10km walk around idyllic farms and visited Bibracte. All top! Thank you for that.

Dear Fleurien & Martijn, Boy have we enjoyed these past two weeks. The cottage, the surroundings, the silence, all the critters in the garden and so much more! Exactly what we so desperately needed and needed. Get away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life, switch off from the hustle and bustle, have good conversations and most of all lots of peace and quiet! So our intention is to take at least some of this back home with us and to put into perspective there especially "What is actually important in life." Every day we could enjoy the fragrant honeysuckle bushes and being outside. Our dog also enjoyed running in the large garden. Took a nice recommended walk together. Dear Martijn and Flo, what a wonderful little week we spent at La Fleur Sauvage. This time I hiked a lot and did not get lost thanks to the great directions in the app. Each time we returned laden with sweet chestnuts, walnuts and small pears. What a party! Picked the quinces and made Daniel very happy with them. I even made "Pâte de Coign" from it, but it still has to dry (very tasty with French cheese) In short, we really enjoyed it!

The peace, the view, the fireplace. One with nature! The starry sky here is just like the movie theater turned on. Wonderful. It's all right, and when you're here you actually need so little in life. I started writing my book here. and couldn't think of a better place. The birds woke us in the mornings in the evening they sang their evening song. Thanks! On to Amsterdam a little more noise than here. We are recharged, though. Love and see you soon.

This was the 3rd time we stayed at la Fleur Sauvage,. In the spring this time. At this time the birds sing their highest song. What a delight 24 hours a day. And otherwise it is quiet, really quiet...except for a mooing cow. The deafening silence is so beneficial. This is what we really needed. We really feel at home in this fine house. Even though the weather was not optimal, we were able to take wonderful walks. Evenings by a fire outside were also great with a glass of wine within reach. It was a wonderful week, a privilege to be here. Thanks for everything and all the best.
